Advantages
Regular maintenance is not required
Refrigerant is eco friendly
The overall efficiency of the vehicle can be
improved
Installation cost is low
DRAWBACKS
COP is low compared to VCR system.
Placing the setup in the confined space is a difficulty
Difficult to detect refrigerant if leakage occurs
Conclusion
For providing cabin cooling for an automobile using
engine exhaust, the vapour absorption system can be
used.
The COP of this system varies from 0.3113 to 0.3583
The heat load on the generator can be easily met by
using the engine exhaust.
Though the COP of the system is less but since the
exhaust gases are used as input, it is not a matter of
concern.
