BACKGROUND
• Modern agricultural system based green
revolution will cause many problems,
especially environmental problems

• The exploitation of natural resources and


the environment has now reached the
critical point
SOLUSI
• To change the mindset to apply local
knowledge-based agricultural system that is
able to conserve natural resources and
support farm builders

• Organic farming or more widely known as


sustainable farming is an agriculture system
that is based on local knowledge and is
particularly directed to maintain existing
natural resources
CONCEPT ORGANIC FARM or SUSTAINABLE
FARMING

• Organic farm is an agricultural system that is


designed and managed in such a way so as to
create sustainable productivity

• The principle of organic farmers is to strive to


avoid or limit themselves in the use of
synthetic fertilizers and synthetic pesticides

• The sustainability of economic business


(profit), the sustainability of human social life
(people), and the natural ecological

Service learning (SL) is intended to improve the


learning systems through active participation, as a
good opportunity to apply skills and knowledge
acquired in real life, to broaden the horizons beyond
the classroom, and the ability to reflect on his
experience and his work

Reflection activities: Students are asked to write a guide for wishes,
hope and action after seeing and experiencing themself the live
events in organic farming and get a deal together to support the
development of organic farming

CONCLUSION

• For student service learning activities are a learning


method that is particularly useful for developing soft
skills, which they do not get in a classroom learning
and Increased student awareness of the values ​that
made​​ sublime organic farmers, particularly in
preserving the environment and health food

• Service learning activities have been integrated into


the curriculum in FP-UKWK so that they are easier in
implementation, despite still being a new learning
method
