Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC)

 RCC is concrete that contains steel bars, called reinforcement bars, or rebars.
 This combination works very well, as concrete is very strong in compression,
easy to produce at site, and inexpensive, and steel is very strong in tension.
 To make reinforced concrete, one first makes a mould, called formwork, that
will contain the liquid concrete and give it the form and shape we need.
Construction Process of RCC
column :
 Column Layout Work.
 Column Reinforcement Work.
 Column Frame Work.
 Pouring Concrete into Column.
Brick Work :
Brick work was used at site for making partition wall. Both full and half brick walls were being
constructed using FPS bricks. FPS bricks means the sizing ofbricks would be in inches. The most common
size is 9"x 4-1/2" x 3". The compressive strength of bricks used was 7.5MPa.
The full brick wall was made using English bond.

 The common brick tests performed on the field as well as in the laboratory are described below.
Compressive Strength Test
Water Absorption Test
Efflorescence Test
Impact Test
Dimension Tolerance Test
Soundness Test
Hardness Test
Structure Test
Plastering
The cement plaster shall be 12 mm, 15 mm or 20 mm thick as specified in the
item.

 Ceiling plaster shall be completed before commencement of wall plaster.

 Plastering shall be started from the top and worked down towards the floor.
 All putlog holes shall be properly filled in advance of the plastering as the

CONCLUSION

 I had a wonderful learning experience at CPWD GORAKHPUR for Six Weeks.

 I gained a lot of insight regarding almost every aspect of various sites.
 I was given exposure in almost all the departments at the site, but I had liked
to highlight the areas of building material and construction, CPWD
specifications and, quality management, material management and
execution.
 As an undergrad student I would like to say that this training program is an
excellent opportunity for me to get to the ground level and experience the
things that we would never gained in our college.
 I am grateful to CPWD for giving me such a gem opportunity.
