Intellergy Inc.

Hydrogen from
Steam/CO2 Reforming
NHA Hydrogen Conference and Expo
Long Beach, CA

May 5, 2010

Presented by Rick Noling – CEO

Topics for Discussion

• Who is Intellergy Corp.

• Waste: feedlot, sewage sludge, municipal, agri-
biomass & medical
• Steam/CO2 reforming as alternative to combustion
• High efficiency production of hydrogen or hydrogen
rich syngas
• Attractive economics
• Sequestering carbon into products
The Rotting Problem
 Agricultural Biomass is composted, burned or goes to
landfill

 Agriculture waste (and landfill) rots to methane

 Methane is 22 times worse than CO2 as a greenhouse

gas

 Landfilling releases methane

 Composting and landfill do not sequester carbon

 Impact of greenhouse gas emissions from landfill alone is

comparable to the carbon emissions from all coal fired
power plants

What if we could

 Eliminate methane emissions from agricultural biomass

and landfill

 Eliminate water pollution problem at dairies, farms and

landfills

 Sequester the carbon from organic waste

 Reduce the need for new landfills

Intellergy’s Solution

 Converts any organic feedstock, biomass or garbage safely

 Chemical process, therefore:

• No combustion
• No problem emissions or pollution
• No reforming catalyst (that fails in other systems)
• No high pressure

 Sequesters carbon into safe useable residue

Steam/CO2 Reforming
CaHbOc+ d CO2 + (a-c-d) H2O ----> (a+d) CO + (a+0.5b-c-d) H2

All Biomass has the same basic formula

One atmosphere pressure, 1,000°C (1,850°F)

No combustion

CO + H2O ----> CO2 + H2 (shift converter)

C + H2O ----> CO2 + H2

C + CO2 ----> 2 CO + Heat

CH4 ----> C + 2 H2
