 After some intervention, she was able to grow her comprehension


rapidly however, her speech production was relatively slow.
VICTOR (1800)

 Captured by hunters, he made no sounds other than gultural


animal-like noises.
 A scientist, named Jean-Marc-Gaspard Itard has an ambitious
project to teach Victor language ( social skills and language training).
 Victor was only able to repeat word (to get milk).
 He tried reading and writing and make a progress in reading.
 He fails at speech, continue mute, and death at the age of 38.
ISABELLE (1942)

 She lived in confinement with a mute mother.


 Her mother had brain injury when she was 2, (never developed
speech), uneducated. Communication by crude gesture.
 When she was pregnant with Isabelle, her parents locked her with
the child.
 She developed speech comprehension and production remarkably
but her further report are not available.
CHILD WITH AUTISM

 Autism is a condition where the children are unable to develop


their social and interaction skills.
 Communication develops differently and more slowly due to
sensory challenges.
 Interested in environmental sounds.
 Early intervention can make a huge difference in improving the
communication skills.
