Introduction

Nowadays, Senior High School students are having a hard

time in numerical subject. For them, seeing numbers make
them feel nervous and make them to overthink. Students' these
days find difficulties in any subject that related to mathematics
or numbers. Whenever they see numbers in board they start to
complain and close their mind saying they can't solve it
without even trying to.
Statement of the Problem

This case study entitled " "The difficulties of Senior High School students
and their strategies in coping with Numerical Subject" wants to know the
difficulties that Senior High School deal with and their strategies.

1. What are the strategies of Senior High School students in numerical subjects?

2. What are the effect and difficulties in numerical subject of SHS students in
Academic performances?

3. How student handle their difficulties in numerical subject?

Objective of the Study

This study aims to determine the difficulties of Senior High School

and how their strategy help them in facing numerical subject.

*To know the difficulties encountered by Senior High Scholl students in

numerical subject.

*To know how they cope up with this difficulties in numerical subject.

*To know what is their strategies in answering numerical subjects.

Significance of the Study

The beneficiaries of the study are the students of SHS of San

Pablo 2nd National High School . In this study, it will help the SHS
students in coping with numerical subject. The result of this study
helps the SHS teachers to improve their teaching techniques and
skills in numerical subjects that may also helps their students in
improving their mathematical skills. Parents will also know the
weaknesses of their children so that they will help them by simply
cheering them up.
Scope and Delimitation

The difficulties of SHS students and their strategies in coping

with numerical subject is focused only in the struggles that SHS
students encountered based on their response on the open-ended
question, also the students who has a strategies in coping with
numerical subject were included for some advice.
Also the 50% of Senior High School student were used as respondents
of the study. They were all students taking Physical Science and
General Mathematics in San Pablo 2nd National High School.
Theoretical Framework

Piaget (1968) pointed out that every normal

student is capable of good mathematical
reasoning if attention (and care) is directed to
activities of his interest, and if by this method the
emotional inhibitions that too often give him a
feeling of inferiority in lessons in mathematics are
removed.

Methodology

This chapter discuss the research design used by the

researchers, the respondents use to complete the survey and the
techniques they've use to gather data needed.
Research Design

The researcher use Quantitative research to conduct a

survey about the topic entitled 'The difficulties of Senior High
School students and their strategies in coping with numerical
subjects.
Methodological Framework

This part shows the research design of the study, the method
used and techniques, strategies and instruments in the study.
Instruments and Techniques

The researchers conduct a survey to the 250 respondents

from SHS about the factor and difficulties they've encountered in
numerical subjects.
Conclusion

The study shows that SHS students are having difficulties in

every numerical subject such as gen math, statistics, physical
science and Mathematics.
