- Tuguegarao City - September 7 and 14, 2018
7 Business Establishment found in violation
of Price Tag Law and were issued with
Notice of Violation (NOV) and 1 business
issued with letter of inquiry re: price above
SRP on bottled water.

• Intensified price and supply monitoring activities

• Coordinated closely with NFA/ rice traders on the
supply of rice for relief operations and in the market
respectively;
• Issued/Published advisory to business, media and
consumers regarding price freeze of basic necessities
as a result of state calamity declaration and in
ensuring reasonableness of prices of BNPC;

Post Typhoon Mitigating Measures

• Coordinated closely with LPCCs (City and


Municipalities) on price freeze of basic necessities and
the conduct of joint price and supply monitoring to
ensure adequacy of supply and stability of price;

• Provide info on the activated 1-DTI (1-384) Consumer


Hotline for consumer complaints;

Observations during the Monitoring

• No Supply of NFA Rice in NFA Accredited Stores;


- Limited unloading of rice imports of 250,000 metric
tons earmark for Region 1,2, 3 and 4 due to rainy
weather in Subic Port. Full unloading will continue
when the weather normalizes. According to NFA
Allacapan, NFA Regional Office requested
50,000 bags augmentation from NCR for Region 02.

Observations during the monitoring
• There was a shortage of construction materials
particularly G.I sheets and umbrella nails areas in
Northern Cagayan per monitoring Sept. 19-21, 2018
due to increase in demand.
Limited stocks before the typhoon were maintained
by hardware because of construction lean months,
however, replenishment of inventories and orders of
business owners are expected to arrived Sept. 22 –
27., 2018. Adequacy of supply is expected to
normalize this week.

Observations during the monitoring
• Prices of Basic Necessities and Prime Commodities
in Groceries remain *stable and supply is adequate.
* ( Prices are within SRP)
• Hardwares in some areas (Baggao and Allacapan)
lowered the prices of GI sheets to as much as
P24.00 per piece and gave discounted price on
other materials to ease the burden of victims of
the Typhoon.
