Objectives of the Session
To provide participants with an understanding of the
role of population as a planning variable;
To introduce measures of population composition,
population size and growth, and population
distribution;
To present selected standards in social sector planning
(education, health, protective services, recreation,
housing); and
To demonstrate the application of these standards,
tools and techniques in social needs assessment and
planning in the Philippine context.
