Seat Belt Routing

•The adjacent figure shows you the seat belt

assembly.
•To model this in FE we use seat belt routing
option in Hypermesh.
•*ELEMENT_SEATBELT is used for modelling
seat belt. And *MAT_SEATBELT material model
is used for it.
•Generally 1D seat belt is recommended.
•We can use 2D seatbelt element is used only
when needed.

Slip ring allows sliding motion of seat

belt through sharp angles.
To Model slipring we need to define 2
seatbelt elements meeting at slipring,
coefficient of friction and slipring node.
The common node can not be
constrained for motion to take place.
