Malnutrition among Tribes of India
 Malnutrition, that is the most crucial keyword for nutrition related
research encompasses a wide range of deficiencies (Under
Nutrition) and excesses (over weight obesity), which are clearly
associated with unfavourable health outcomes.
 Under Nutrition, global epidemic stalks India’s tribal residents the
Malnutrition most as they are socially and economically vulnerable..
 India with its large and diverse tribal population witness’s wide
variations with respect to nutritional status and access to and
utilization of nutrition and health services, leading to myopic
interpretations of causal effect notions pertaining to under
nutrition.
 India ranks 103rd among 119 countries on Global Hunger Index
(GHI).
 India is among the 45 countries having serious levels of Hunger –
Where India WELTHungerLife and Concern World Wide.
Stands  India ranks below its neighbouring countries; GHI Rankings – China
(25), Nepal (72), Myanmar (68), Sri Lanka (67) and Bangladesh (86)
 Rajasthan, Gujarat, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh,
Jharkhand Odisha and Madhya Pradesh have been identified as
states where the incidence is higher than the national average.
 HMRFF is a non-profit & charitable organization for working to
catalysing the movement to end Hunger and malnutrition from
India.
 HMRFF vision is to end hunger and malnutrition by connecting
people to nutritious, affordable food and by supporting grassroots
About solutions that inspire self-reliance and community empowerment.

HMRFF  HMRFF mission is to build a movement of Young Generation


whose actions will help to eliminate the Hunger cause.
 A key element in our work is fostering partnerships with
Community Based Organization (CBOs), NGOs and other
vulnerable group at state and district levels creating a bond with
their community leaders.
 Raise Awareness about most affected area of malnutrition and
Hunger.
 Collaboration with NGOs to make national campaign.

HMRFF  Empower young people to take concrete action against Hunger.


 Engage Celebrities, businesses, media and organizations to form
Purpose their own response to malnutrition.
 Fundraising for cause and establish community kitchen and food
banks on most vulnerable community/area.
 Create a National Fund to fight against Hunger and Malnutrition.
 Communicating, Raising Awareness and Advocacy against
Malnutrition and it’s Eradication Initiation with attendees
 Bringing together politicians, leaders and media houses under one
roof to raise awareness for the cause
