Switchover Process
When the active and standby GCUa boards are switched over, the active
GCUa board becomes standby after being reset, and the other GCUa board
becomes active.
Switchover Process
When the active and standby SCUa boards are switched over, the active SCUa board
becomes standby after being reset, and the other SCUa board becomes active.
Switchover Process
When the active and standby TNUa boards are switched over, the
active TNUa board becomes standby after being reset, and the
other TNUa board becomes active.
Switchover Process
When the active and standby OIUa boards are switched over, the active OIUa board
becomes standby after being reset, and the other OIUa board becomes active.
Board Backup
Two FG2a boards are configured in adjacent slots in a subrack of the BSC6900, the two boards
are configured to work in board backup mode, one FG2a board is active and the other is
standby. The standby board synchronizes its data with that on the active board in real time.
The backup mode of the FG2a board is configurable when the ADD BRD command is used to
add an FG2a board.
FE/GE Port Backup
In FE/GE port backup mode, one port is active and the other is standby. The active port
transmits and receives data.
Board Switchover Process
When the active and standby FG2a boards are switched over, the active FG2a board becomes
standby after being reset, and the other FG2a board becomes active.
NOTE: If the FG2a boards work in board backup with port backup mode, after an
active/standby switchover, the BSC6900 determines the active and standby ports and
defines the port load sharing strategy.
Port Switchover Process
When the active and standby ports are switched over, the active port stops receiving and
sending data and becomes standby, and the original standby port starts to receive and
send data and becomes active.
Therefore we advise to inhibit the board during non busy hour before
replacing it (running INH BRD command). When replacement is
done do not forget to uninhibit the board (UIN BRD)
For IuPS and IuR, GOUa/c boards are not working in backup mode,
also not using port redundancy (Slots 24/25).
Board Backup
For IuB and Abis, GOUa/c boards are used in Active / Standby mode.
When two GOUa/c boards are configured to work in board backup mode, one board is
active and the other is standby. The standby board synchronizes its data with the
data on the active board in real time.
FE/GE Port Backup
In FE/GE port backup mode, one port is active and the other is standby. The active port
transmits and receives data.
Board Switchover Process
When the active and standby GOUa/c boards are switched over, the active GOUa/c
board becomes standby after being reset, and the other GOUa/c board becomes
active.
NOTE: If the GOUa/GOUc boards work in board backup with port backup mode, the
BSC6900 determines the active and standby ports and defines the port load sharing
strategy after an active/standby switchover.
Port Switchover Process
When the active and standby ports are switched over, the active port stops receiving and
sending data and becomes standby, and the original standby port starts to receive
and send data and becomes active.
> If CPU status is Active normal, run the SWP BRD command to switch the board over to standby status.
2. Run the DSP ETHPORT command to query the backup status of all the ports on the GOUa/c board to be replaced.
> If the ports are active, run the SWP ETHPORT command to switch the active port to standby status.
3. Check whether the labels on the optical cable connected to the GOUa/c are legible. If the labels are illegible, attach a new label to the
cable to avoid improper connection after the board is replaced.
4. Remove the optical cables and cap the connectors. If the connectors are dirty, clean them with the dustfree cotton cloth or the fiber
cleaner.
5. Remove the board by referring to Removing a Board and cap the optical ports.
6. Install the new board into the subrack by referring to Inserting a Board.
> The new board automatically loads program and configuration data, and the RUN LED blinks every other 0.125s.
7. Remove the caps from optical ports and connectors, and reserve them for later use. Then, install the optical cables by referring to the
labels.
8. If the RUN LED blinks every other second, run DSP BRD to query the status of the new board.
9. Run the CMP BRDVER command to check whether the software version of the new board is consistent with the board version matching
table.
> If the board version is inconsistent with the board version matching table, run “SET LODCTRL: LODCTRL=LFB;” and then run “RST
BRD” to reset the board.
10. Check that Abis / IuB interface board is ok, and traffic is ongoing. Further KPI analysis should be done.
For IuPS and IuR, GOUa/c boards work mode is Load sharing. IuPS
and IuR (User plan & Control plan) are defined on both boards.
Therefore we advise to inhibit the board during non busy hour before
replacing it (running INH BRD command). When replacement is
done do not forget to uninhibit the board (UIN BRD)
Switchover Process
When the active and standby SPUa/b boards are switched over, the
active SPUa/b board becomes standby after being reset, and the
other SPUa/b board becomes active.
3. Insert the new SPUa/b board into the subrack by referring to Inserting a Board.
> The new board automatically loads program and configuration data, and the RUN LED blinks
every other 0.125s.
4. If the RUN LED blinks every other second, run DSP BRD to query the status of the new board.
5. Run the CMP BRDVER command to check whether the software version of the new board is
consistent with the board version matching table.
> If the board version is inconsistent with the board version matching table, run “SET LODCTRL:
LODCTRL=LFB;” and then run “RST BRD” to reset the board.
Therefore we advise to inhibit the board during non busy hour before
replacing it (running INH BRD command). When replacement is
done do not forget to uninhibit the board (UIN BRD)
