• Get “All their wiggles out” with “Good
Morning” songs!
5th Grade with Mrs. Young
Fifth grade students were preparing for STAAR testing.
Mrs. Young incorporated learning material that would prepare and motivate her students
The week I observed, her and her students worked TOGETHER on practice STAAR tests.

I loved that Mrs. Young encouraged growth mindset

by reinforcing positive behavior, giving incentives for
participation, and by having students write down
“happy comments” at the bottom of their papers.
Mrs. Stegall and Mrs. Young taught me that no matter what grade level
you teach, whether the littles in Head Start or the older ones in higher
grade levels, it is critical to include all students.

They also taught me how important it is to create a positive atmosphere.

Students need to have tangible goals, but it is important that I have high expectations of all my students!

There is something to teach in everything and it is important

that I do not miss even the little lessons that can be taught and
learned.

Teachers who love teaching, teach children to love learning. – Robert John Meehan
