THE RELOCATION
OF HAWKERS IN
THE PUBLIC
PLAZA
 Introduction
Purpose
This presentation proposes to find a good relocation
site for Hawkers in the Public Plaza of Kabankalan City.
Hawkers earn their living in selling various foods that is
attracting local citizen because it is much cheaper and easy
to cook. This relocation site is designed to create a soothing
environment bringing the comfort for the hawkers to do their
business and a safe and pleasant experience for the
customers.
Problem
The hawkers in the Public Plaza of Kabankalan City
can be found in front of the city’s Public Library and around
the plaza’s premises. This problem causes obstruction and
traffic when customers decided to visit them and are prone
to accidents.
Scope
 Section 1 of this project will show the area of the
proposed relocation site together with the floor plan.
 Section 2 will show the capability of the area to meet the
needs of the hawkers and as well as their customers.
 Section 3 will focus on the required facilities.

Capability
The old children’s playground has been vacant since
the new and much safer playground was built. This will be
the perfect place for the hawkers since the government don’t
have to spend more to find a place for them and it is still in
the vicinity of the plaza.
It is also capable of giving comfort to the customers
because of the area and accessible to the people that visits
the new playground and the public plaza. And the hawkers
can still accommodate as many people in this area.
 Section 2
Facilities and Requirements
Deep fryers, griddle, or any kind of equipment or
appliances will be provided by the hawkers.
For light and water, the government can provided
separate meters for the occupant hawkers, of course, a
professional engineer can be hired to install it. The
government can provide it for free to encourage hawkers to
transfer and when their business is earning enough revenue,
the government can arranged for a proper rental fee for the
stalls monthly.
Conclusion and Recommendation
From what we have gathered and from the data
presented, it safe to conclude that;
 The current location of the Hawkers can cause
obstruction and traffic in some part of the public plaza
imposing dangers to their customers.
 The relocation of the hawkers to a better location can
give a permanent place for them and their businesses.
Conclusion and Recommendation
 The area in the old playground in the public plaza where
the relocation site for the hawkers will be of good use.
 The proposed project is capable to:
– Solve the present problem of hawkers scattered in the
vicinity of the public plaza.
– Reduce obstruction and traffic in some of the areas of
the public plaza.
– Bring a safe place for hawkers and their customers.
