what is culture war

• It refers to the conflict between traditionalist, classical liberal, or conservative


values and social democratic, progressive or social liberal values in the
Western world, as well as other countries.
• Culture wars have influenced the debate over history, science and other
curricula in all societies around the world.
Cultural groups

• Community: social unit of any size that shares common values.


Communities range in size and scope from neighborhoods to national
communities to international communities.
• Society: group of people involved in persistent interpersonal relationships,
or a large social grouping sharing the same geographical or social territory,
typically subject to the same political authority and dominant cultural
expectations.
• Civilization:any complex society characterized by urban development,
social stratification, symbolic communication forms (typically, writing
systems), and a perceived separation from and domination over the natural
environment.
Elements of culture

• The art: vast subdivision of culture, composed of many creative endeavors


and disciplines. The arts encompasses visual arts, literary arts and the
performing arts.
• Literature: it is meant by the art of written works like children literature,
fiction,non-fiction,poetry and critical theory.
• Performing art: those forms of art that use the artist's own body, face, and
presence as a medium. performing art like circus, comedy, theatre,dance and
music
• Visual art: it is create works which are primarily visual in nature. About
architecture, craft, design and drawing.

• Political culture is defined by the International Encyclopedia of the Social


Sciences as the "set of attitudes, beliefs and sentiments that give order and
meaning to a political process and which provide the underlying assumptions
and rules that govern behavior in the political system".
• It encompasses both the political ideals and operating norms of a polity.
Political culture is thus the manifestation of the psychological and subjective
dimensions of politics.
• A political culture is the product of both the history of a political system and
the histories of the members.
Culture war of Pakistan

• It is intertwined with the culture of the broader Indian subcontinent.


Comprises numerous ethnic groups: the Punjabis, Saraikis, Pothwaris,
Kashmiris, Sindhis, Muhajirs and Bakrichod in east, Makrani in the south;
Baloch, Hazaras and Pashtuns in the west; and the Dards, Wakhi, Baltis,
Shinaki and Burusho communities in the north.
• The culture of these Pakistani ethnic groups have been greatly influenced by
many of its neighbours, such as the other South Asian, Iranic, Turkic as well
as the peoples of Central Asia and West Asia.
• The region has formed a distinct unit within the main geographical complex of
Indian subcontinent, the Middle East and Central Asia from the earliest times,
and is analogous to the intermediary position of Afghanistan.

• Pakistani literature originates from when Pakistan gained its independence


as a sovereign state in 1947.

Baloch, and Sindhi.

• The Urdu language has a rich tradition of poetry and includes the famous

Faiz, Ahmad Faraz, Habib Jalib, Jazib Qureshi, and Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi.

• Painting:
During the 16th to 18th centuries, Mughal painting developed, heavily
influenced by Persian miniatures.
• Architecture:
The architecture of the areas now constituting Pakistan can be traced to four
distinct periods: pre-Islamic, Islamic, colonial, and post-colonial.
The arrival of Islam in today's Pakistan introduced the classical Islamic
construction techniques into Pakistan's architectural landscape.
Recreation and sports

• National sport of Pakistan is field hockey, but cricket and squash are the most
popular sports.
• The Pakistan national cricket team won the Cricket World Cup in 1992, were
runners-up in 1999, and co-hosted the games in 1987
• At the international level, Pakistan has competed many times at the Summer
Olympics in field hockey, boxing, athletics, swimming, and shooting.

• The national dress is shalwar kameez for both men and women. It consists
of a long, loose fitting tunic with trousers baggy enough to not to see the
shape of their legs. following are belows:

pajama etc.

conclusion

• We see the evidences of the culture war exhibited continually in our society.
The culture war is between traditional American values like belief in God, the
Bible, universal moral standards, sanctity of life, family values, marriage
between a man and a woman, Christian founding of America, and historic
truth, and the opposite values, including denial of God, belief in biological
evolution, rejection of the Bible, faith in a relative moral code, abortion on
demand, abolishing traditional family values, abolishing marriage as between
a man and a woman, and denying our Christian heritage.
