KEYBOARD
A computer keyboard is an input
device used to enter characters and
functions into the computer system by
pressing buttons, or keys. It is the
primary device used to enter text. A
keyboard typically contains keys for
individual letters, numbers and special
characters, as well as keys for specific
functions.
MONITOR
Definition of: monitor (1) A display
screen used to provide visual output
from a computer, cable box, video
camera, VCR or other video generating
device. Computer monitors use CRT
and LCD technology, while TV monitors
use CRT, LCD and plasma technologies.

COMPUTER MOUSE
A computer mouse (plural: mice) is an
input device that is most often used
with a personal computer. Moving a
mouse along a flat surface can move
the on-screen cursor to different items
on the screen. Items can be moved or
selected by pressing the mouse buttons
(called clicking).
COMPUTER
SPEAKER
Speakers are one of the most common
output devices used with computer
systems. Some speakers are designed
to work specifically with computers,
while others can be hooked up to any
type of sound system. Regardless of
their design, the purpose of speakers is
to produce audio output that can be
heard by the listener.
UNIVERSAL SERIAL
BUS (USB)
USB (Universal Serial Bus) is the most
popular connection used to connect a
computer to devices such as digital
cameras, printers, scanners, and
external hard drives. USB is a cross-
platform technology that is supported
by most of the major operating systems.
On Windows, it can be used with
Windows 98 and higher.
RANDOM-ACCESS
MEMORY (RAM)
RAM stands for random-access
memory, which makes it possible to find
specific information very quickly. It is a
form of fast-access, volatile storage
that is used as the main memory in
computer systems. The most widely
used form of RAM for the main memory
is dynamic RAM (DRAM).
SCANNER
A scanner is an optional piece of
computer hardware that uses reflected
light to capture images and translate
them into files a computer can read
and display. Scanners come in high-
and low-resolution versions, and can
scan images in either black-and-white
or color.
HARD DISK
A hard disk drive (HDD), hard disk, hard
drive, or fixed disk, is an
electromechanical data storage
device that uses magnetic storage to
store and retrieve digital information
using one or more rigid rapidly rotating
disks (platters) coated with magnetic
material.
