Use manipulatives, or
comparative number lines to
visually see what fractions have
the same quantity. Figure the
fractions that are equivalent and
list them in that fraction box.

1. Students can choose a


denominator number (how many
times a fraction is split) and draw
it. Fill in the given fraction
amount (ex. ½) and decide the
numerator by counting how many
pieces are filled in.

1. Student’s should explain in their


own words how they compared
fractions, as well as came up
with new ones on their own that
are equivalent to the fractions
shown at the bottom of the page.
