Internet of Things (IoT)

Internet of Things (IoT) involves everything we use in our daily life which can easily be accessed from
anywhere around the world over the Internet. In recent years, it has seen immense growth and with the
industry realizing its potential, it is here to contribute in the ongoing digital revolution. Innovative companies
are adopting IoT strategies to get data from customers and utilize it to redefine product and customer
relationship. Its scope can easily be determined by the fact that people are presently more inclined towards
internet connected devices ranging from smart homes, phones, electronics and many more. This infinite
network of “smart” devices promises a whole bunch of new generation jobs for a new generation of
technology. With more devices become connected to the Internet, it is also creating new demand for certain
technical skills and hybrid job roles. This also calls for the need to acquire particular skills on top of the
regular technology competency in order to get benefit with the current IoT career wave. The job profiles for
IoT engineer involves modelling of extracted data, managing files over the network, implementing codes,
data extraction, management of VPNs server management and others. These connected devices also pose
a challenge for companies in regards to the security of the user data and place an excellent opportunity for
network security professionals. IoT is presenting many good opportunities for fresh graduates. With the
proper skill set, aspirants can place themselves in a favourable position to get a job in this growing
technology.
