INTRODUCTION
ISSUES
• If there are widespread stereotypes
concerning different categories of individuals,
the individuals belonging to a given category
may be subject to a process of self-
stereotyping, which they may begin to ascribe
these stereotypes to themselves (Lundberg
and Startz, 1983; & Coate and Loury, 1993).
ISSUES
• Gender stereotypes are over-
generalizations about the characteristics
of an entire group based on gender.
• Having female leaders influences the
extent of emphasis placed on gender
equality in policy and practice
• (Smith, 2014)
ISSUES
• Usually, people have similar beliefs about
men being leaders, but different beliefs
about women (Eagly & Johannesen-
Schmidt, 2001)
ISSUES
• Successful manager is • On average female
seen as having a more leaders do not have
masculine profile fewer competencies
(Powell & Butterfield, that are required for
1979) successful leadership,
such as being
“masculine”, which is
believed to be natural
to male leaders
(Vasilevskyte, 2016).
ISSUES
• Women’s leadership style is, at this
point, different from men’s but men
can learn from and adopt “women’s”
style and use it effectively as well.
(Ekland, et. al, 2017)

setting out leadership and for their academics
to seek outcomes that may be beneficial
within cooperative situations.

assigning task in classrooms, clubs, school
coordinating body and the such, so that they
can have a background about what
stereotypes students nowadays have
towards leadership, concerning gender.
• Lastly for the future researchers, this
research may give them a consistent idea or
information that may help in their study in
the future. The ideas given may be used as

FINDINGS

• After doing this research we got to know the

different perceptions of students. Many
respondents agreed most of the statements,
written in the standardized survey
questionnaire. This implies the effectivity of
the standardized survey gathered, and also
the unity of the answers of the ABM
students as the respondents.
FINDINGS

• Overall, the results obtained are in line with

observations that were previously made by other
researchers and meet expectation of the author
after the literature review has been performed.
The methods applied fulfilled their purpose and
produced reliable, clear and, in most cases,
statistically significant results.

DISCUSSION
CONCLUSION
• With all the data collected through primary sources as
well as the related literatures, it is therefore concluded
that the Grade 12 Accountancy and Business
Management students of La Consolacion University
Philippines overall has the perception that women are
more effective than men as a leader, and all agreed that
both men and women has strengths and weaknesses as
well as positive and negative sides, and are all equally
welcome as leaders. Therefore, gender stereotyping
towards leadership roles is not greatly evident in the area
being studied .

related literature that are more timely and
relevant to make the data more accurate and
reliable.
• 4. The researchers also suggests the future
researchers to study a wider area and variety
of respondents.
• “We all use stereotypes, all the time,
without knowing it. We have met the
enemy of equality, and the enemy is
us.”

(Paul, 1998)
“It is the time that we all see gender as a
spectrum instead of two sets of opposing
ideas.
We should stop defining each other by
what we are not and defining ourselves by
who we are.”
