COMPETENCIES
OR THE CHARACTERISTICS/QUALITIES OF A
SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENUER
At the end of the discussion, the students are able to:
• Identify the Personal Entrepreneurial
Competencies;
• Recognize the three (3) cluster of PEC’s
ENTREPRENEURIALS COMPETENCY
• is a characteristics of a person which
enables him or her to be effective and to
show superior performance in business
ventures.
• It can be a set of skills, or appropriate
motives or traits that an individual
possesses that he or she uses to perform in
his/her business.
Successful entrepreneur have common
characteristics, which are divide into
three(3) cluster namely
1. ACHIEVEMENT CLUSTER
2. PLANNING CLUSTER
3. POWER CLUSTER

A.OPPORTUNITY SEEKING AND
INITIATIVE
• Refers to the quality that enables the
entrepreneur to see and act upon
new business opportunities even in
situations where other people sees
nothing but problems.
• Initiative is doing things before asked
or forced to by events

B. RISK TAKING
• Deliberately calculates risk and evaluates
alternatives
• Takes action to reduce risk or to control
outcomes

C. DEMAND FOR EFFICIENCY AND
QUALITY
• Finds ways to do things better, faster, or cheaper
• Acts to do things that meet or exceed standards or
excellence
• Develop or use procedures to ensure that work is
complete on the time or that work meets agrees-
upon standards quality

• Articulates clear and specific long-range goals
• Sets measurable short-term objectives

order to maintain business contact at a
high level.

complete a difficult task or meet a
challenge
