Theatrical performance
Tres Patrimonio or Three Patrimonies is a zarzuela written and directed by Joseph Cristobal. A
zarzuela is a form of a play where the actors sing their lines, kinda like a musical. It’s one of the
things the Spaniards left to us after centuries of colonization. The art of zarzuela can now hardly
be found on the more modern parts of the country, but go to the barrios and you can still
glimpses of it during fiestas.

Tres Patrimonio is divided into three acts as

hinted by its name; the first act is about
Diego and Gabriela Silang, the second one about
Leona Florentino and the last, about Padre Burgos;
all Bigueño heroes and icons.

in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage. To show and share their

On a regular day, the UNESCO-listed heritage city of Vigan possesses

an effortless charm of its own which never fades every time I visit. This
quality, however, is heightened every first week of May during the Viva
Vigan Binatbatan Festival of the Arts, established in 1993 by the Save
Vigan .Ancestral Homes Association, Inc. (SVAHAI) to showcase the
historic city’s artistic and cultural values. There are several activities
lined up during the festival period, including street dancing, kalesa
(horse carriage) parade, fishing competition, abel house decor contest,
carabao painting contest, traditional games and a trade and food fair,
where handicrafts and localdelicacies are sold, such as Vigan
longganisa (native sausages) and bagnet (fried pork) at competitive
prices.
Binasuan Folk Dance
Binasuan is a folk dance that originated in Bayambang, Pangasinan,. The word “binasuan” means “with the use of drinking
glasses.” The dancers balance glasses on their heads and in their hands as they move. The glasses are filled with rice wine,
which makes any misstep a messy mistake. People dance binasuan at weddings and festivals. A group of dancers generally
performs binasuan, moving in unison, but occasionally breaking into smaller groups and performing different
choreography. For example, they can begin in a circle, then form two columns, which then bend into semicircles, and one
follows the other to reform the circle. The music is in three-quarter time.

The Dinengdeng Festival is the official merriment occasion of the district of Agoo, La Union, Philippines. It is held every
year in summer in festivity of a dish by which its name is gotten from. One of the principle motivation behind "Dinengdeng
Festival" is to advance the neighborhood tourism of the town, which is one of the set up Spanish settlements in the district.
Supplanting the old topic, one of its essential farming items tobacco, the celebration has easily been related to the region.
Dinengdeng is the Ilocano expression for any vegetable-stewed dish. Typically cooked in a "banga", a nearby term for a
cooking earth pot being utilized by the relatives of the neighborhood pioneers in the old circumstances. Actually, the
"banga" is presently restored to symbolize the celebration.
