 Indian IT industry will need an additional 90,

Indian Scenario
 The software market grew by over 45% (from Rs.
4,950 crore in 1998-99 to Rs. 7,200 crore in 1999-2
000) C.A.G.R. 46.8%
 It is expected to gross Rs. 9,500 crore in 2000-01.
 Focus on e-governance by state governments in I
ndia. 19 of the 26 state governments have already
announced their IT policy and many others have f
ormed high-level Task Forces.
 The IT enabled services sector surpassed all exp
ectation by showing a record growth of over 70%
to Rs.4100 Crores in 2000-01
