Week 25 Achievements
 Conducted UMTS Downlink Primary Scrambling code audit. A job ordered to NMC
configurations (Vincent ) to modify inconsistent codes. Done and performance ok.
 Bvumbwe Poor Handovers: Reset the RRU70 board and modified the Intra Handover
Underlaid/Overlaid preference parameter to Underlaid. Sector 1 &3 improved.
 FDD_Midlands UMPT board swap follow up with Lilongwe team ~ Davie Mkandawire.
Licence sent.
 Conducted feasibility study on TDD LTE F2 Carrier implementation capability.
 Opened a ticket with TAC on UL/DL throughput imbalance in the city of Blantyre.
 Examined the impact of CE overbooking and Dynamic CE on NodeBs with high CE
utilisation.// Activated CE overbooking at Mzimba Hospital. Dynamic CE activated at
Ekwendeni and Mzuzu University. CE congestion has reduced in the said NodeBs
 Conducted capacity checks on all network nodes as follows: RNC & BSC board utilisations,
Interfaces Utilisation, E-NodeBs, NodeBs, BTSs Utilisations and Cell resource Utilisations.
 Monitored traffic trends on all technologies.
 Monitored radio resource utilisation for optimum network.

Week 25 Planned Activities

o Capacity checks on all network nodes as follows: RNC & BSC board utilisations, Interfaces
Utilisation, E-NodeBs, NodeBs, BTSs Utilisations and Cell resource Utilisations
o Monitor traffic trends on all technologies.
o Monitor radio resources on all technologies for optimum utilisation.
• Monitor Bvumbwe Poor Handovers: Reset the RRU70 board and modified the Intra
Handover Underlaid/Overlaid preference parameter to Underlaid.// Sector 1 & 3
Performance improved.. Have Engaged TAC for sector 2//log files have been sent to TAC
• Follow up on FDD_Midlands UMPT board swap follow up with Lilongwe team ~ Davie
Mkandawire. License sent. Awaiting configuration from Vincent. Dave to slot in the board

• UL/DL throughput imbalance in the city of Blantyre G-TAC ticket tracking. //File traces
gathered. Awaiting e-trans link.
• Coordinate with Faizul on report aggregation and automation. Gather traces.
• Explore feature optimization (FACH etc.) in-order to clear network architecture alarms.
• Explore 2G Half rate and full rate traffic against total traffic for betterment of network
speech quality.
• Data Quality examination// liaise with call Center.
• GL sites with capability for G1800 upgrade/standalone cells in the network.

• Improvement at 3G Mzuzu university and 3G Ekwendeni after Dynamic CE feature
