POWER MANAGEMENT IN

INTELLIGENT BUILDINGS BASED ON

DAILY DEMAND PREDICTION USING
ANDROID
OBJECTIVE
The objectives are as follows:
• To measure the voltage, current and power
consumed by each appliance.
• To efficiently make use of the power consumption
for each appliance.
• To control the power supply manually and through
remote control.
• To limit the use of power supply according to the
home appliances life quality.
• To record every data and to calculate the
management quality.
ABSTRACT
• The system principally monitors electrical parameters of
household appliances such as voltage and current and
subsequently calculates the power consumed.

• The developed system is a low-cost and flexible in operation

and thus can save electricity expense of the consumers.

• To monitor each and every home appliance individually for

knowing their power consumption using the mobiles.
CONT…
• In the proposed system we can detect the high and low voltage
passing in the line as well as we can detect Short circuit by using
short circuit detector.

• Through Wi-Fi, the information is sent to the user mobile for

informing that there is any short circuit and even how much load
is consumed by the appliance such as light, fan. So the user can
control the appliance through him mobile.
INTRODUCTION
• We should save electricity to ensure that it is used properly in the
service of humanity. The wastage of power should be stopped.

• Determining how much electricity your appliances and home

electronics use can help you understand how much money you are
spending to use them.

• we design and implement a management system which can be used to

monitor home appliance power system, which will be helpful to
evaluate the required and non required loads at home.

• Our project controls electrical loads by making use of an android

application.

PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION
• Laziness to switch on/ off home appliance
power.
• No records are provided how much current is
consumed.
• No cost estimation
• No exact information for power usage.
• No energy saving system
• No cause identification for power cut
PROPOSED SYSTEM
• In this system we design and implement a management system which
can be used to monitor home appliance power system, which will be
helpful to evaluate the required and non required loads at home.
Task1:
• When the AC supply is received, the system checks the supply.
• Accordingly the system calculates the voltage and current.
• Calculates cost of power used automatically.
Task 2:
• Detects the cause of short circuit through the short circuit designed
for this cause.
Task3:
• Some appliances have limit in usage. In order to increase or maintain
the life of the electric appliances we limit the working of appliances.
Task4:
• It is not always necessary to be there at home. Even when we are not
physically present at home we can control the power supply to home
appliances. We design a remote and manual control of power supply.
Task5:
• All databases are recorded in a server to control the power control.
The recorded data can be viewed through an android app.
ADVANTAGES
• Cost estimation for every addition of unit
• Finds the cause of power cut (i.e. due to short
circuit or EB)
• Will be a evidence in case of misuse of
electricity
• Can increase life of each appliances.
• Can control the power supply automatically.
CONT…
• No need to be physically present at each and
every room to switch off the switches.
• Can limit the usage the power.
• At industrial level we can use the system to
increase quality of each electric product.
• Can control the system from anywhere at any
time
