BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
 Water, being the most
widespread substance to be
found in the environment,
occupies a special place
among other natural resources.
Wise utilization of water resources is
very important.
Mismanagement of water
resources leads to severe financial,
environmental and social issues.
Dubbed as “The
Last Frontier of
Southeast Asia” and
“Pearl of the
Orient”, the
Philippines is blessed
with rich natural
resources especially
in terms of water
resources.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

1. What are the assessments on the existing water

supply condition of the puroks regarding on their
current household water sources, frequency of water
shortage, and household water demand?
2. What is the projected water demand of the chosen
puroks of Brgy. Virac, Itogon?
3. What is the discharge of the water sources of the
chosen puroks of Brgy. Virac, Itogon?
4. What is the proposed design for the water supply
system?
SIGNIFICANCE
OF THE STUDY
The study paves the way to an effective water
supply system that would address water shortages
in the community and would guarantee
adequate water supply in the area of study.
SCOPE

Brgy. Virac,
Itogon
Benguet
SCOPE, LIMITATION AND
DELIMITATION

The study was only limited to 10 adjacent puroks of

Brgy. Virac, Itogon and was divided into two zones.
Yield discharge were determined using Volumetric
Method only.
Additionally, the study is limited to the design and
estimate of the cost of the new water supply system.
SCOPE, LIMITATION AND
DELIMITATION
Social and environmental
consideration is not included in this
study.
Design of effective management of
the network and improve operational
resilience are beyond the limits of this
study.
Improve protection of water sources
Water quality test, water rate analysis
and evaluation of existing pipelines
were not carried out.

Recommendations
This study is recommended to be implemented
immediately to overcome the shortage of water supply
experienced by the people of selected district of Brgy.
Virac, Itogon, Benguet.
Recommendations
“Thus the researcher recommended sparing months
other than the month of allotted studies (January-
March) analysing the yield of the springs and other
important factors if it is still sufficing the water demand
for the proposed study

“Recommend that the complete study be conducted

on the most suitable water treatment facility for safer
consumption to human used”
