 STATEMENT

To study the effects of physical environment on

patients of PIMS and Fauji Foundation.
OBJECTIVES..
The objectives of this research are:
 To study the effect of physical environment on
patients (of PIMS and Fouji Foundation).
 To analyze the effects of physical environment on
patients (of PIMS and Fauji Foundation).
To compare the effects of physical environment on
patients of both Hospitals.
BACKGROUND
 The physical environment of a hospital plays a significant role in
healing process of a patient’s health.
 A better environment could help patients to reach a good state of
mind and mental health after long term treatments and surgeries.
 What matters the most is the health care facilities provided by hospital,
professional and friendly staff, cleanliness of the hospital and behavior
of visitors towards patients.
 The studies have shown that there is some evidence of physical
environment playing its role in healing process of a patient.
 It is also suggested that a clean and tidy environment can lead to
shortening healing process of patients, nature and greenery could also
play their part in reducing the level of anxiety and depression of the
patients. Without a shadow of doubt physical environment plays
an important role in effecting a patient’s health however, there are
many other aspects which also play their part in a patient healing
process.

 The physical environment includes land, air, water,
plants and animals, buildings and other
infrastructure, and all of the natural resources that
provide our basic needs and opportunities for social
and economic development. (Ministry of Social

Significance
Proper physical environment in hospitals is very important. It
plays an important role inpatients health improve of physical
environment in hospital, such an proper cleanliness of wards,
air quality and lighting can enhance the health outcomes of
patients in hospitals.
HYPOTHESIS….
Is there any effect of physical environment on
the Patients.
DELIMITATIONS..
This study will be limited to patients.
The study will be limited to the PIMS and Fouji
foundation hospital
The study will be limited only the patients of PIMS
and Fouji foundation
Data will be collected from the (female patients)
only.

METHODOLOGY
 Research Methodology
 Type of research:
This will be a Quantitative research as it will be used to qualify
the problem by way of generating numerical data.
 Population:
Data collection for the research will be conducted of the women
patients of PIMS and Fauji Foundation Hospital
 Sample:
Sample participants of 50 women will be selected 25 from Fauji
Foundation and 25 from PIMS

 Sampling techniques:
Sample will be collected from the females of PIMS and Fauji foundation
hospital to check the physical environment of patients. Females will be
selected randomly to fill the questionnaire.

 Method of data collection:

Data will be collected through Questionnaires and Interviews.

 Place of research:
This research will be conducted in PIMS hospital Islamabad
and Fauji Foundation hospital Rawalpindi.
 Data analysis:
The data in the report will be analyzed through Microsoft
Excel, which helps in the calculation and the representation
of data in tabular form. It will be analyzed statistically and
will be represented in the form of tables and graphs.
