 INTRODUCTION

RESUSCITATION is the process of correcting physiological

disorders (such as lack of breathing or heartbeat) in an acutely
unwell patient.
Neonatal resuscitation trolley:
It is a unit/trolley which is present in Neonatal Intensive Care
unit. Basically it consists of all the necessary equipments used
for resuscitation of an infant.
It consists of ;-
• Ventilator
• Phototherapy unit (for humidity and warming)
• Suction machine
• Flowmeter
 BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Microprocessor based servo controlled
temperature system.
The microprocessor-controlled unit allows for
three settings: pre-warm, manual or automatic.
Alarm functions for safety includes:
Power failure;
Temperature deviation;
Temperature sensor failure;
over temperature.
APGAR timer to record therapy time
Convenient X-ray cassette under infant bed
Heater head can be adjusted +90 degree horizontally
Tilt angle of infant bed is adjustable
Observe light angle is adjustable
Transparent protector folded
Adopts anti-explosion micro crystal quartz infrared
radiation tube for its radiation source,the heating is quick and life-span is long
Alarms are audible and visual
A second thermal cut-out function for more safety
Skin temperature sensor failure protect function avoid over temperature
Temperature deviation can be amended in front panel directly

Ventilator:
a machine designed to move breathable air into and out of the lungs, to
provide breathing for a patient who is physically unable to breathe, or
breathing insufficiently.
Phototherapy Unit:
Phototherapy units consist of a light source and a means of allowing the light
to radiate the infant. It uses visible light of 420 to 500 nanometers for treating
hyperbilirubinemia.

OPERATION
Its functioning Is based upon the functioning of consisting equipments
Eg
• Ventilator helps in Ventilation.(it may use ambu bag)
• Phototherapy unit maintains temperature and humidity
• Suction machine cleans airways and mouth by applying negative pressure.
• Flow meter measures, monitors, and records the rate of flow, pressure, or
discharge of liquids or gasses.
 Practical situation
PROCEDURE
• Bring the baby to the trolley
• First of all dry the baby
• Check whether the baby is breathing or not
• Check the heart beat
• If baby is not breathing then you can go for the
medical procedures required.
