ABSTRACT
This paper presents a cost-effective design of an intelligent waste
container for small-scale cases.This system is basedon Arduino
Uno board and an ultrasonic sensor to monitor the fullness level of
the container and give SMS alerts using a GSM module and lid of
the container will automatically opens itself upon detection of human
hand by suing a PIR motion sensor.The system is powered by
lithium battery.The system provides an option of charging external
portable devices using the power bank.Finally,the system is
implemented successfully with an acceptable overall cost for the
intended application.The system performance was found
satisfactory according to the obtained test results.

GSM MODULE

It helps to send the status of the bin


to the authorised persons when the bin is full.
When the garbage level reaches its maximum
level it sends “IAM FULL” message to the reserved
authority

It helps to find the waste level , and when
it exceeds a particular limit it send signals

It detects the motion of the persor nearby


and when a motion is detected it will send
signals to tha adruino

By using this method of waste collection, mainly


in urban areas, becomes more easier. It helps in
reducing air pollution, traffic flow, time,
manpower and money. This project can add an
edge to the cities aiming to get smart and
people-friendly.
