WHAT IS PRINT MEDIA?
 Print media is the printed version of telling the news,
primarily through newspapers and magazines. Before
the invention and widespread use of printing presses,
printed materials had to be written by hand. It was a
painstaking process that made mass distribution
impossible. It is one of the oldest and basic forms of
communication.
 The contribution of print media in providing
information and transfer of knowledge is remarkable.
Even after the advent of electronic media, the print
media has not lost its charm or relevance. Print
media has the advantage of making a longer impact
on the minds of the reader. Some people prefer to
read media in print as opposed to digital formats.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF PRINT MEDIA
 Newspapers - are the most popular form of print media. They are
generally delivered at home, or are available at newsstands, and it is
the most inexpensive way to reach a huge mass of people
quickly. Different types of newspapers cater to various audiences, and
one can select the particular category accordingly.

 Books - It is best source of education. It is the best and cheapest


means of storing and transmitting to others the records, knowledge,
literature speculations and entertainment characteristics of the human
society. By books people easily get information and knowledge.
 Magazines - are the predecessor of the daily newspaper.
They provide detailed articles on various topics such as food,
fashion, sports, finance, lifestyle, and so on. Magazines are
published weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually. Many of
them are sold all over the world.

 Brochures - Also known as pamphlets, brochures contain


information about the business or organization. They are mostly
distributed by hand or sent through mails. It is a fantastic way to
showcase your product to the new customers.
IMPORTANCE OF PRINT MEDIA
 Print Media is Tangible: print materials can be stored with you for future reference as
they are tangible.

 Brand Establishment: it helps in creating an brand image by using concentrating on


the aesthetic value of the brand through colours, images etc.

 Print is more engaging: a customer is more engaged while reading a printed text as.
websites are usually skimmed, but when reading a magazine a person reads through the
article or ad.

 Print Media keeps customers updated customers with news related to Politics,
Sports, Business, Society etc.

 Print Media helps organizations and firms to promote their goods and services to the
people at large and is more cost effective than Television
BROADCAST MEDIA
WHAT IS BROADCAST MEDIA
 Typically Broadcast Media refers to radio and television.
They are media that is broadcast. You could make an
argument that internet is also a form of broadcast media,
but typically it receives its own category of digital media.
