THE TERMS CLARIFICATION

FISHBOWL
Silberman (1996:110) defines that Fishbowl is a discussion format that some students
make discussion circle and other students make listener circle in around of discussion group.

METHOD
Brown (2000:16) defines that method is a generalized set of classroom specifications for
accomplishing linguistic objectives. Method tends to be concerned primary with teacher and students
roles and behaviors and secondarily with such features as linguistic and subject-matter objectives,
sequencing, and materials.
SPEAKING
Tarigan (1990:3-4) defines that speaking is a language skill that is developed in child life,
which is produced by listening skill, and at that period speaking skill is learned.

The Setting of The Research


At SMAN 1 Blitar in the Academic Year of 2018/2019

The Research Design


An Experimental Research is the traditional approach to conducting quantitative research. It
is used to establish possible cause and effect between dependent and independent variable
(Cresswell, 2008: 298-299).

The Sample
The experimental group, XI Science 4 which consist of 32 students (24 girls and 8 boys)
The control group, XI Science 5 which consist of 32 students (22 girls and 10 boys)
