Carlos Antonio Santos-Viola (April 8, 1912 – July 31, 1994) was a native
of San Miguel, Bulacan. He was one of the six children of Melecio
Santos and Miguela Antonio.
He was one of the very first graduates of the College of Architecture of the University of Santo Tomas in 1935.
During this time the professors then were outstanding architects and engineers of the period, such as Tomas
Arguelles, Tomas Mapua, Juan Nakpil, Fernando Ocampo, and Andres Luna de San Pedro. After graduating,
he worked in the office of Juan Nakpil as a Draftsman and met Juan Nakpil’s youngest sister, Caridad, his wife.
Carlos passed and placed 10th in the board examination for Architects in 1938. Shortly after World War II and
opened open his own office in partnership with Alfredo J. Luz.

Locale of Tondo, Manila

 Erected 52 years after the establishment of the


original house of worship of the Locale of Tondo on
Gabriela Street in 1915, which was which was
made of light materials (nipa and bamboo)
 Destroyed in 1924 due to fire
 May 10, 1967
 Dedication by Brother Erano G. Manalo
 Second-largest house of worship of the INC
 6,000 seating capacity
