Solar power is
the conversion of
energy from sunlight into
electricity, either directly
using photovoltaics (PV),
indirectly using concentrated
solar power, or a combination.

What is Solar Photovoltaics Cell - A solar cell, or

Power?
photovoltaic cell (PV), is a device that
converts light into electric current using
the photovoltaic effect.

Note:
• During brownouts /
No electricity from the
electric utility - No
electricity is provided
by the system for
safety purposes.
• Grid-tied systems are
specifically for saving
electricity and not for
use during
emergency situations
or power outages.
How was the
Demand of Solar
Power System
Globally?
Forecast of demand for solar photovoltaic power globally from 2007 to 2022 (in gigawatts)

This statistic represents

photovoltaic (PV) power
worldwide from 2007 to
2016 with a forecast for
2017 to 2022.

Solar PV demand is
expected to total 85
gigawatts around the
world. The United States
has started a process to
implement taxes on solar
products from China and
Taiwan, which has
initiated trade disputes
around the world.
PH 5th Worldwide,
Top in Asia in Solar Power

The Philippines ranked No. 1 among

developing countries in Asia in terms of
the use of solar photovoltaic systems for
electricity generation, according to a Dutch
consultancy firm.

Rotterdam-based Solar plaza also ranked

the Philippines fifth worldwide, following
Chile, South Africa, Brazil and Thailand.

Rooftop Solar Power in PH
Poe’s Senate Bill 1719 seeks to promote the use of rooftop solar technology in the PH.

Rooftop solar is an
emerging technology which the
government should look into
especially as it’s becoming
cheaper by the day,” Poe said.

According to Poe, her proposed

law aims to address institutional
barriers to the adoption of rooftop
solar energy as well as support
its development nationwide.

MERALCO Process for NET Metering
• Invite us over for a technical evaluation.
Meralco will evaluate your application and requirements through a
pre-survey and a distribution impact study (DIS). A distribution
asset study (DAS) may be done as necessary. The DIS and Das
will not be applicable if your installation is not connected to our
system, or what we call the ‘island mode’.
• Let’s work on a design.
We will coordinate with your solar installers to design the
interconnection facility.
• Let’s talk about our Project Agreement.
Once the design is finalized, we will have to agree on financing
options, notifications, and signing of contracts.
• Get the final approval.
We will also inspect your facility and the service entrance.
• Wait for the go signal.
Once approved, our crew will construct and execute the approved
design.
• Power your home or business!
As soon as the construction of the facility is completed, we can
now energize your home or business by installing additional
meters and commissioning for activation.
Inquiry Guidelines

I. Assess if Solar Potential (Ocular Visit)

The amount of power generated by a solar energy system at

a particular site depends on how much of the sun's energy
reaches it.

Things to consider:
• Evaluate shading.
• Age of roof.
• Enough roof top space.
Inquiry Guidelines

II. Estimate Solar Electricity Needs

To provide recommendations for your system’s type and size,

gather information about your home and electricity use.

Things to consider:
• Review electricity bills to determine annual electricity needs.
• Consider any planned changes. (if has future additional appliances or etc.)
Thank you! 
