Organization Environment
 Environment is everything outsides organization’s boundaries

 Environment uncertainty – static environments significantly less

uncertainty than dynamic environment

 Environment- Structure Relationship

 Environment and Centralization
 Organic Structure

 Catholic Church faces dynamic environment due to growing numbers

of catholic activists in U.S on emotional issues
 John Paul has systematically appointed strong men according to his
will to the curia who made decisions and order them to do their jobs
Organizational size
Organizational size is defined as the number of employees at any given geographical
location. This would include the total corporate Organization if it is in one
geographical location or a division of a decentralized corporation.
But in Case of John Paul II the basic size of catholic church is deceptively simple

Priest -4,05,000
Secondary school- 3,000
Hospitals- 6,000
Orphanages- 7,000

How John Paul II used SIZE STRUCTURE RELATIONSHIP:

1.Size and Complexity

2.Size and Formalization
3.Size and Centralization
