RESERVES OF MINERALS IN THE WORLD
CONCLUSIONS

 Peru is a mining power.

 Peru is a polymetallic country, its predominant metals are zinc, lead,
silver, copper, iron and a future great exploiter of Lithium and Uranium.
We also have the largest reserve in Latin America of the aforementioned
minerals and everything is thanks to the Andean mountain range.
 For sustainable development in Peru, make sure that the environmental
impact is not serious in the long term.
Chile and Argentina seek to strengthen
their copper and lithium production
• The Chilean Undersecretary of Mining, Pablo Terrazas, met with the Secretary of
Mining Policy of Argentina, Carolina Sánchez, to discuss the development of the
sectoral treaty between both countries and with the objective of positioning the
countries as a world class district for the production of copper and lithium.
During the meeting, the authorities addressed a series of binational initiatives,
framed in the Mining Integration and Complementation Treaty created in 1997 by
both governments.
Specifically, the projects that have these characteristics are "El Pachón", from the
Swiss Glencore, which is intended to be located in the south of the Province of
San Juan, Argentina; "Vicuña" of the exploration company NGEx, which would be
located between the Atacama Region and the Province of San Juan; Pascua Lama,
and a room that will be presented soon to the parties.
