knowledge to create a better communication (Bosun 2019).

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM AND
OBJECTIVES

• How does anti-intellectualism affect the academic


performance of selected Laguna University students?
• Determine the profile of the respondents in terms of;
• age

• level

• program

• particular major course


• Find out the level of anti-intellectualism on extent of
engagement of the students;

• Determine the relationship of anti-intellectualism to the


student’s academic performance; and

• Create a communication strategy (campaign) to prevent the


rising culture of anti-intellectualism among Laguna
University students.

THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

• refers to the tendency of people to remain silent when they
feel that their opinions contradict the majority opinion on the
subject.
• the fear of isolation by the majority and hinder a person to
share more knowledge and ideas to create a better and
intelligent communication.
• the person who’s in the minority will suffer for social rejection
and think that they are not smart enough.
