Employee Engagement and Job Satisfaction of First
Security Islami Bank Limited, Agrabad Branch

“Always for everyone”


Introduction

In this report, the main purpose is to provide a review of the


concept of employee engagement and job satisfaction in
evolving the workplace.
Objectives of the Study

• Broad Objective
The main objective of this report is to practice the real life
nature of the bank.
• Specific Objectives
 To understand the importance of job satisfaction and employee
engagement.
 To identify the factors influence employee engagement and job
satisfaction.
 To know the reasons behind the employee engagement and job
satisfaction/dissatisfaction of the employees from the findings
and analysis.
Scope of the Study

• Get the opportunity to gain knowledge of the


components.
• The decisions and analyses are done based on the
opinion of employee respondents and practices applied
at this Agrabad branch.
Methodology of the Study

Sources of data: There are two types of data
1. Primary Data
2. Secondary Data
Data collection Method
- Questionnaire survey
- Face to Face interview
Sample size: 20 respondents
Limitations of the Study

• Lack of time period


• difficult to collect the information
• Lack of interest of the employees to reveal personal
thought
• Sample size may not enough
• Officers were so much busy with their work and they
did not have time to provide information

Employee Engagement
Employee engagement is the extent to
which employees feel passionate about
their job committed to the organization,
and put discretionary effort to their work.

According to William Kahn (1990),


“Employee engagement is the harnessing of organization
members' selves to their work roles; in engagement, people
employ and express themselves physically, cognitively, and
emotionally during role performances”.
Job Satisfaction
Job satisfaction or employee satisfaction
is a measure of workers’ satisfied with
their job, whether or not they like the job
or individual aspects or facets of jobs.

According to Locke (1969),


Job satisfaction as "a pleasurable or positive emotional
state resulting from the appraisal of one's job or job
experiences"
Importance of Employee Engagement and Job
Satisfaction
Employee engagement and job satisfaction play an important role
that organizations desire for their employees.

Organizations should have engaged employees rather than just


satisfied employees.

On the other hand, Satisfied employees are enthusiastic, willing to


contribute their efforts, highly focused on work and committed.

 The manager should encourage & motivate more to give


importance on employees’ personal development
 The bank should improve the working environment by
providing a lounge, different prayer room for male and female,
coffee maker, etc
 Supervisor should give the guidance regarding employee’s
role, responsibility and authority.
 The bank should give more attention to increase employee
participation in decision making and recognition of the
employee to increase the level of job satisfaction
 Ensure good relationship with Co-workers
Conclusions

First Security Islami Bank Limited is one of the leading bank.


My internship program was directed to understand the level of
employee engagement and job satisfaction, I had to gain the
practical area of responsibilities so that I could interact with
them to assess their views and relations with the organization.
It is my honor to get opportunity to working with this bank.
Lessons from Internship

As an intern, I got the chance to work in Accounts departments


and Accounts opening & customer service department.
In Accounts department, I have learnt about audit where I checked
regular transaction of the branch.
In Accounts opening & customer service department, I have
learnt how to fill an account opening from and documents needed
for opening an account.
