Colic Renal Presentation
• Usually typical
• Male, 30-50y.o.
• Unilateral flank pain
• Colicky, intermittent pain-due to smooth muscle contraction of the ureter to
propulse the stone
• It is very intense, sometimes the patient cannot stay calm in one position
• Sometimes could cause nausea and vomiting
• Between the attack the patient could appear normal
• It is caused by renal stone
• They have predisposing factors for urinary tract stonenext slide
• History of passing stone before

What Caused a Urinary Tract Stone?
• Intrinsic Factors
• Hereditary
• Age : 30-50 y.o.
• Male >Female
• Extrinsic Factors
• Geography
• Climate and Temperature
• Water Intake
• Dietary : Rich in purin, oxalate and calcium
• Occupation
What are the other symptoms for Colic
Renal?
• Hematuria-Microscopic or Macroscopic
Hematuria
• Infection of the urinary tract
• Signs of Complication:
• Fever-sign of urosepsisEmergency drainage and
Antibiotics
• Continuous Flank Pain, decreased of micturition, signs
of chronic renal impairment (+ Marked Ballotement of
the Renal)= Hydronephrosis, could cause chronic renal
failure
