Derived from the French word:

- Enterprendre

- Which means “ to undertake.”

- This refers to those who “undertake” the risk of the new enterprise

Enterprise- is created by the entrepreneur.

Entrepreneurship - is the process of creation of the Enterprise

WHAT IS ENTREPRENEURSHIP?
 Is a process of actions of an entrepreneur who is always in search of
something new and exploits such ideas into gainful opportunities by
accpting the risk and uncertainty with the enterprise.

 Entrepreneurship is the process of designing, launching and running a

new business, which is often initially a small business. The people who
create these businesses are called entrepreneurs.

 Entrepreneurship has been defined as that ability to be able to know

what products and services are needed by people, and to be able to
provide these things at the right time, at right place at the right price.
Does entrepreneurship always involve an
opportunity?
 Entrepreneurship happens when a person or the Entrepreneur identifies
opportunity where he can make a profit.

 It maybe as simple as a buying a product at a lower price in one location, and

selling it in a higher price in another location.

 Or it can be more complicated as when an entrepreneur buys new materials,

combines them in a manufacturing process, produces a new product and then
sell in a price greater than the cost of producing it.
Does entrepreneurship always involve
something new?
 Usually, Entrepreneurship involves introducing something new or novel. But this
novelty can be found in may forms- some involves very dramatic changes, while
others can be small or subtle modifications.

 The concept of introducing something new is called Innovations , which is define

as a new method, idea or product.

 To innovate is to be able to translate idea into invention into goods or services

that has commercial values.
What are some types of Enterprises according
to concept?

 An Enterprise can involve a new concept

This usually means creating or stumbling on a new idea or concept and creating or
inventing something radically new. The inventor then builds a new business around
this product.
Steve Jobs is responsible for creating many of the features of early versions of
computers and word processing software. But what he is famous for are the
trailblazing iPod, iPhone, iPad and iTunes.
CONT….
 Steve Jobs created a whole new industry in gadgets for music and boosted music
industry with his invention of the iPod and the downloading from iTunes.

 Apple, the company he founded, saw it sales grow by leaps and bound with this
product.

 The Jobs altered the mobile panorama with the creation of the iPhone, sales also grew
to the point that people around the world queued long lines to be able to purchase the
product

 After this Job perceived there was a need ed a computer and a mobile phone,
something that is lightweight but with the features of the computer and the
communicating aspect of the mobile phone, Thus the iPad was born. And the era of
tablet was began.
Enterprise can built on existing concept, but
giving rise to a new business

 An example of this is Jollibee, which created a new business based on the existing
concept of selling hamburgers and chicken, what was originally an ice cream
parlor gave rise to a more profitable versions of hamburgers and chicken which is
a giant competitor of McDonalds had already been doing.
 But Jollibee created their own version of the hamburgers and chicken, and
together with their clever marketing strategies of calling it” Langhap Sarap” and
partnering with Filipino values, produced a new business that beat the global
giant in its own game
Mang Inasal
 Another example of existing concept of chicken is Mang Inasal as fast food.
Mang Inasal is a concept that offers chicken in a new, light and grilled chicken as
fast food.

 Mang Inasal, which started in the Visayas took the country by storm because its
founder perceived s need of people for affordable, quick-served inihaw or grilled
chicken. Thus this business was founded and fluorished to the extent of offering
very real competition to Jollibee’s popular chicken joy.
An Enterprise can be involve an existing concept
and an existing business
 An example of this is Franchise Business

 Although the concept and the business were the same, the taking of risk and the
considerations of the new sites, still qualified it to be an entrepreneurial
adventure.

 An example of this is:
