Healthcare of McKensington
company
Project Aims: Figure out the risks and feasibility of the application of AI to
Healthcare.
Project Objectives:
• Research the documents on how AI used in healthcare.
• Evaluate the potential of AI in Healthcare.
• Evaluate the impact of AI healthcare project on company.
• Apply project managermanet skills for project
Qualitative research
• Analysis:
• AI cannot replace doctors' jobs in the easy way.
• In the opinion of the doctors who have worked for a long time in the
medical. No case is the same, each case requires the observation and
analysis of the doctor. Doctors must replace themselves in accordance with
the patient's condition. It is difficult for AI or algorithm to do it.
Q3: What we need to do to improve our
project?
• Professor Connor: Feedbacks from the users is the answer. What we need to
do is collecting feedbacks from users. We use positive feedback to improve
and use negative feedback to fix the shortcomings.
• Professor Nickolas: It’s hard to say for sure. The problem most businesses
deal with is whether users accept their products or not. Your company
should focus on improving the performance of the project. This is the first AI
project of the team, so the team should create more quality instead of profit
to be able to gain trust from users. The users decide the success of the
project and the company.
Q3: What we need to do to improve our
project?
• Analysis:
• Users decide the survival of the project. So listening to users' opinions is the
best way to improve our project.
Q4: Are doctors and nurses satisfied when the
machines replace them?
• Doctor Miriam: Their work is very hard. They will be very satisfied because
nobody is unhappy when something helps share the burden of work.
• Doctor Cindy: Cooperation between people and technology is considered
perfect. Human creativity ability combined with artificial intelligence, and
the ability to calculate infinite machines.
Q4: Are doctors and nurses satisfied when the
machines replace them?
• Analysis:
• They are very supportive of change. This change helps them reduce the
work burden significantly
Q5: What is the applications of AI in
healthcare?
• Kevin Gabel (Dev): Medical AI is mainly concerned with the development of the
Virtual Nursing Assistant that help with the prediction, diagnosis and treatment or
management of. AI-based applications and chat bots support care providers in
delivering nursing assistance before and after discharge from hospital.
• Doctor Miriam: Now, in our hospital, patient care is increasing, but the number of
nurses working in our hospital is not enough. I hope you create something that can
help people stay healthy so they don’t need a doctor, or at least not as often.
• Kevin Gabel (Dev): There are some outstanding features of Virtual Nursing
Assistant. They are drug discovery, remote monitoring of patients. It evaluates the
health parameters and symptoms encountered. Tips and appropriate medicines
will be given.
Q5: What is the applications of AI in
healthcare?
• Analysis:
• We should design a product like Virtual Nursing Assistant that help with the
prediction, diagnosis and treatment or management of. AI-based
applications and chat bots support care providers
Q6: Is there any difficultys when applied to this
project?
• Karl Thordarson (Dev): AI has a near-infinite potential, but the bright future
it offers cannot be achieved if the necessary infrastructure does not support
its development.
• Professor Connor:AI has the potential to help address important health
challenges, but might be limited by the quality of available health data, and
by the inability of AI to display some human characteristics.
• Kevin Gabel (Dev): Complex digital technology requires high
professionalism. Doctors must learn how to operate, master it to be safe
and effective.
Q6: Is there any difficultys when applied to this
project?
• Analysis:
• The difficulties we encounter are the facilities must meet the development
of the project and the limitation of available health data. Moreover, we
should train the development team to be able to create the best and most
suitable product, guide users to increase the usability of the product.
Quantitative research
• The survey was conducted with 100 patients being treated at the national
hospital. The patient will answer the questions by choosing the right
answers for him/her The answers will be listed by chart and analysis
There are about 55% of patients accept that they believe in the health delivery for a machine. It means
they may accept the Virtual Nursing Assistant to control their health. But 55 percent is not the big number.
This number need to be bigger in the furture because users decide the survival of the project.
They will not agree immediately. It will take a long time for patients to accept. What we need to do is
improving the Virtual Nursing Assistant based on the feedback from users. They will accept easily if they
have good experience with the Virtual Nursing Assistant.
The survey found much higher unwillingness for a robot to perform a major procedure instead of a
doctor. Major surgeries may involve human life so they are not ready to hand it over to machines.
The percentage of respondents were highly willing to choose “Monitor heart condition and advise
the treatment”.
Most people want to receive health advice and information via smartphone and tablet.
Because today mobile handsets are developing very fast.
