iPhone iOS 12.3.2 Accessibility Features

Five accessibility features will be discussed in

this presentation.

They include the following:

1. Zoom
2. Bold Text
3. Increase Contrast
4. Reduce Motion
5. Vibration
How to Find these Features
All of the accessibility features mentioned can be found on the Accessibility menu,
which is found through the following process:

Settings > General > Accessibility

The “Zoom” Feature
Zoom can be found under the
VoiceOver option in the Accessibility
menu. As shown by the green arrow on
the left.

Once Zoom has been selected, its menu

will be featured on the screen. To
ensure that Zoom is activated, the
white button next to the word “Zoom”
should be slid so that green is emitted
as shown by the yellow arrow on the
right.
The “Zoom” Feature (cont’d)
Once the Zoom feature has been turned on, you will be able to
magnify any portion of the screen.

All you have to do is double tap with three fingers on wherever you
would like to zoom in. If done properly, a box should appear as shown
on the left. This box is the magnifier you will use to zoom in.

To move the magnifier around the screen, drag the box with three
fingers.

Double tap with three fingers and drag to change the magnitude of
the zoom. i.e. 120% or 200%

To stow the tool, double tap with three fingers once again.
The “Bold Text” Feature
Bold Text can be found under Larger
Text in the Accessibility menu as shown
by the blue arrow on the right.

To enable Bold Text, the white button on

its right should be slid so that green is
displayed.

If done properly, a warning will appear. It

will state that applying this setting will
restart your phone. To properly activate
Bold Text, you must select Continue.
Otherwise, Cancel will revert you back to
your prior settings.
The “Bold Text” Feature (cont’d)
Bold Text essentially does what it says, it bolds your phone’s text.

This will enable for easier reading and visual clarity.

To disable Bold Text, simply slide the white button towards the left so that the green is
hidden. Once again, if done properly a warning box will appear. It will state that in
order to apply this change, your phone must restart. To make it official, select
Continue otherwise Cancel will leave Bold Text on.
The “Increase Contrast” Feature
Just as the Bold Text feature, the Increase
Contrast tool also allows for visual clarity and
easier readability.

To locate the Increase Contrast feature, go to the

Accessibility menu. It will be under Reduce
Transparency as shown by the blue arrow.

To activate Increase Contrast, select it from the

Accessibility Menu. Once in the Increase
Contrast menu, slide the white button next to
Increase Contrast to the right to display green as
shown by the red arrow. To turn off Increase
Contrast, simply slide the white button back so
that the green is hidden.
The “Reduce Motion” Feature
Reduce Motion will get rid of any extra noise
or pixelation in images and icons which will
allow for clearer pictures and visual clarity.

To find this feature, it will be in the

Accessibility menu right below Increase
Contrast as shown by the blue arrow on the
left.

To turn on Reduce Motion, once in the Reduce

Motion menu, slide the white button next to
Reduce Motion so that green is shown as
displayed by the purple arrow on the right. To
turn off this feature, slide the white button to
left so that the green is hidden.
The “Vibration” Feature
Vibration is what is felt whenever your phone is
silent, but you would like to feel the notification
of a text, call, or any other important update.

To access vibration, scroll down the Accessibility

menu until you find it. It will be below Shake to
Undo as shown by the blue arrow.

To turn on Vibration, select it from the

Accessibility menu and once in the Vibration
menu slide the white button towards the right so
that green is emitted as shown by the orange
arrow. To turn off vibration, slide the white
button to the left to hide the green. This will
make your phone completely silent and will not
buzz for any notification of any kind.
Those were only FIVE of the many accessibility features
iPhone iOS 12.3.2 has to offer!
Take some time to explore the rest of the features on your own.
