 Introduction

 Radiography is a proven and useful procedure for evaluation of

the bones, joints, and soft tissues of the extremities.
 It should be performed for valid medical reasons, using the
minimum radiation dose necessary to obtain a diagnostic-quality
examination.
 Conventional radiographs are the most frequently obtained
imaging studies. They are chiefly useful for evaluation of the
bones, but useful information about the adjacent soft tissues
may also be obtained.
