IELTS (International English Language
Testing System)
is the world’s most popular English
language test.

IELTS Test Format
IELTS is a test of all four language skills:

• Listening (involves listening to a recording and


answering questions)
• Reading (involves reading passages/graphs/data and
answering questions)
• Writing (involves writing a letter and an essay on a
given topic)
• Speaking (involves speaking on topics provided by an
examiner)

 Listening, Reading & Writing tests take place on the same day
 Speaking test is conducted on a different day
IELTS Modules
There are two versions of the IELTS test:

• IELTS Academic: this is recommended for


candidates who plan to undertake
academic study.
• IELTS General Training: this is
recommended for candidates to use at
work, work-related training or for
migration.
IELTS Scoring
• IELTS results are reported as band
scores on a scale from 1 (the lowest)
to 9 (the highest)
How to register for IELTS
Having a Valid Passport is mandatory for taking the IELTS test

There are two ways to register for taking the IELTS test:

Online registration
• The registration fee for IELTS test is INR 12,650
• Register through British Council/IDP’s online registration portal
• Pay online using Net Banking, eWallets or Card (Visa, Visa electron,
Master Card)

Register offline by completing the following three steps: (Only


through British Council)
• Download the IELTS registration form.
• Complete your details and choose the test date
• To pay by cash or demand draft visit the nearest ICICI bank
