Why You need parents on your side?

Before talking on how do you need parents on your

side, we should clear why are u needing parents on
your side???
Why you need parents on your side?
• Lets take some Examples:
o Suppose a student named Ali just does not seem to care about school. He rarely
does his homework and most of the time he is not present in class and you have
many time talked to his parents but they always say that they would make sure he
starts doing his homework and give some time on study at home, but they don’t
follow through.
o Another student named Sana just complete her every work on time and she is
sometimes extraordinary, when I talked to her parents they always says that sana is
going good and what we should do more on her study?
• I think that we all have gone through from these types of conditions, If Ali’s parents
cooperate with his teachers, he can improve but if they are not cooperating with
teachers, his son will always have problem in both behaviour and acedemic. In
other words we can say that parents are not on your side.
• On other hand if we see sana’s parents they are so much motivated, they are ever
ready for communication with teacher, Which results good. If Sana is lacking in
some subject, teacher can communicate with parents and by the help of parents
and teacher Sana will improve, in other words parents on your side.
Why u need parents on your side ….

• There are times when you will need to talk to parents about your academic
concerns regarding their child. It's important to understand how to
approach and work with parents so that you can ensure a successful
outcome for all involved.
• Lack of parental support from the parent of Ali resulted in their teachers
having to handle these situations on their own-with less than possitive
results.
• The frustration of these teachers mirrors the frustration of many educators
today who attempt to motivate students without the active support of
parents.
Teachers speak out for parent involvement:

• In 1989 instructor magazine poll asked educators to name one of the

thing they would like to tell national policy makers about the most
effective way to raise student acheivement. The answer given most
frequently was parental involvement.
• Instructor poll was supported by the 1996 Phi Delta Kappa/Gallup poll
of teachers, which reported that lack of support from parents is the
biggest problem they face in their class room.
• In 1993 in article in THE NEW YORK TIMES sums up “what do teachers
want most?Help from parents”
Parents are the most important people in
child’s life:

• “ In my home we had two rules about the school.

• Rule#1 was: Do what the teacher says, do your best work and never
misbehave.
• Rule#2 was under no circumstances were we ever to break rule#1.
• My parents always let us know that they were prepared to do whatever
it took to ensure that we succeeded in school. And I knew that they
mean it.”
How to involve parents in their child’s
education:

• Parents on your side is a step by step program develop to help you. The
educator reach out to parent so that your students may get the support
they need to get succeed in school and in life. The program include two
main points
• 1. You can learn how to communicate with parents
• 2. Parents want to support you.
