CS Voice Precise Power
Control
www.huawei.com
Typical scenarios:
This feature is mainly applied in typical metropolitan environment
(featuring low rate and multipath).
This feature is inapplicable to high-speed moving scenarios (such
as hi-speed railway, subway, and express ways) and extended
cell coverage scenarios.
Network impact
The increase of the MOS by 0.05 to 0.1 point has no impact on the KPI
(call drop rate and access success rate) of the live network.
Affected Feature
None
Hardware Dependency
Optimization of SIR assessment depends on WBBPf boards.
NE Dependency
None
License
This feature is controlled by a new RNC-level license control item.

Initial-Target- QeFacto Initial-target-QE adjustment factor for OLPC involved in the CS Voice Precise Power Control feature. Internal
QE Adjust r QE adjusted value = (BLERtarget - BLERmeas QeFactor) QeStepSize plan
Factor for PC Target QE = Previous target QE + QE adjusted value
The value of BLERmeas is obtained according to the number of blocks received by the transport channel and
the number of error blocks. For the specific calculation method, see Power Control Feature Parameter
Description.
The greater the value of this parameter, the smaller the target QE, and the smaller the UE transmit power.
The smaller the value of this parameter, the higher the UE transmit power.
Step 2. (Optional) Modify objects in batches on the CME. (CME batch modification center)
After this feature is activated, verify that this feature has been
activated using any of the following methods:
Method 1: Observe the two counters
VS.SingleRAB.CSVoicePPC.CSVoiceFrames and
VS.MultiRAB.CSVoicePPC.CSVoiceFrames. If either of the counters is not 0,
this feature has been activated.
Method 2: Set up a single AMR service as follows: 1. Open the Monitor page
on the RNC LMT. 2. Choose Monitor -> UMTS Monitoring -> Connection
Performance Monitoring in the Monitor Navigation Tree. The Connection
Performance Monitoring dialog box is displayed. 3. Set Monitor Item to
OPLC and specify IMSI in this dialog box. 4. click Submit. If the target SIR is
increased but no error block occurs, the feature has been activated.
