• Provide the spoken language practice that is vital for
all language learning. • Provide us with the opportunity to take our students out of the classroom for a "test run" of real world language use • Allow students to become someone else for part of lesson, and thereby to leave behind their inhibitions and worries • Involved an element of play that provides an enjoyable contrast to the course book exercises and helps to develop rapport between students. Role Play Drama Role-play involves :
1. Giving a role to one or more members
of a group 2. Assigning an objective or purpose that participants must accomplish 3. Can be conducted with a single person, in pairs or in groups, with each person assigned a role to accomplish an objective Advantages
Boost Students’ confident level
Students can adapt to the moods and expression of the given situation Students can show their creativity students gain different experiences regarding the situation. Disadvantages It’s a time consuming process.
The teacher is difficult in evaluating students
individually
Sometimes students may feel like threatened
Strongly depends on students imagination
Students may be too shy

understand Steps in Role Playing 1. Students are divided into several groups 2. Teacher give a topic for each group (optional) 3. Students select the situation and create the dialogue 4. Practice for a few minutes in group 5. Perform the situation in front of class 6. Other groups’ member give comments and suggestions 7.
