Importance of Ceremonies in Kab Scouting
Ceremonies provide meaning and zest to the boys
as they move along the KAB scouting trail for they:

Acknowledge in a formal way work well done.

Impress upon the boys and their parents the purpose and
meaning of every aspect of KAB scouting.

Stimulate advancement in the Kawan by creating incentives

to do things not only for fun but also for recognition.

Provide opportunities for recognition of parents’ participation

and involvement in the program.

Serve as an opportunity to recognize the contribution of the

Kawan Leaders towards success.

Hints on Kab Scout Ceremonies
Keep speaking parts to a minimum; boys seldom talk
aloud enough (from a stage) to be heard.
Caution them against letting their voices trail off into a
whisper.

Pronounce words distinctly and correctly.

If badges are to be presented as a part of the

ceremony, have them arranged on the table in a
manner that will enable the leader to present them
quickly and easy.
If a candle is to be lighted, it’s easier if it is saturated
with lighter fluid shortly before the ceremony.
