INTRODUCTION

• The opportunity to conduct Energy Audit in TUP Hostel in Technological


University of the Philippines, Ayala Blvd, Ermita, Manila, 1000 Metro Manila
will help Conservation of Energy as possible as we look into Energy Cost
Centers and Energy Intensity in relation to the daily needs and wants of the
occupants

• Building Description
This is 4th floor of College of Industrial Education building. The subject unit covers an
estimated 476 m2. This floor has two types of room, one is Set B which has 9 rooms, one huge
comfort and kitchen. In Set A which also has 9 rooms but the comfort room is included and it
has living area. It should be understood that all building sizes noted here are rough
approximations based on site observations, and are for the purposes of this report only. The
visible evidence suggests that the building was constructed approximately 117 years ago. The
building is occupied every day except when its semester break For the purpose of this report.

• Lighting Description
The lighting fixtures for the rooms are of the fluorescent type. As described above, lighting
accounts for approximately 4% of the unit’s energy use. Upgrading the older T12 lighting
technology represents the largest energy savings opportunity in lighting. There is a
refrigerator, in the kitchen area. There are two personal computers in use within the building.
These plug loads are used by the building occupants to perform their tasks every day.

savanna climate with a pronounced
dry season in the low-sun months, no
cold season, wet season is in the
high-sun months. The mean annual
temperature is 27.7°Celsius
(81.9°Fahrenheit). Average monthly
temperatures vary by 4°C (7.2°F).
Total annual precipitation averages
2061 mm (81.1 inches) which is
equivalent to 2061 Litres/m2 (50.55
Gallons/ft2).

As the result we can see in the evaluation that
action required it shows that there is no corrective
action required. Specific conditions in each category
