EZ Capture for TRC-NW8 – Product Description
• EZ Capture is a capture program that allows

users of the Topcon TRC-NW8 Retinal
Camera to capture, view print and save
retinal images.
• It can also be used as a link to transfer

images from the TRC-NW8 to a non-Topcon
capture system.

EZ Capture for TRC-NW8 – Installation
•Place the EZ Capture Software CD in the computer’s CD ROM drive.

•Use Windows Explorer to locate and run Setup_EzCapture.exe
•Select Setup_EzCapture.exe and double click
The Installation Utility Program window will appear. Click Next.

The Select Camera window will appear. Select the camera according to
the model included with the TRC-NW8.
Once the camera model has been selected, click Next

The screen will display the initial window of the EZ Capture Setup
Program. Note that it mentions the Nikon camera selected. Click Next.
The Setup Program will indicate the folder location where to install EZ
Capture. Click Next.
The program will add icons to the Program Folder listed. Click Next.
The program will add icons to the Program Folder listed. Click Next.
The setup is now complete and you can click Finish to close.
The Edit Template installation program will open. Click Next.
The Edit Template installation is completed. Click Finish
The Edit Template installation program will open. Click Next.
The Configuration Keyword will be completed. Click OK.

After installation
of EZ Capture

should appear
on the desktop
of the computer
EZ Capture for TRC-NW8 – System Activation
EZ Capture needs to be activated by means of

an activation code provided by Topcon.
The first time you start EZ

Capture, the “Activation”
dialog box is displayed.
Once you activate EZ Capture,
the Activation dialog box will no
longer display.
To activate EZ Capture,
click the “Activate
System” button.
When the “Activation EZ

Capture” widow opens,
make a screen capture
of it by pressing
Ctrl+Alt+Print Screen.
Then, open
“Paint” in
Windows
Accessories,
paste the
image and
save it as a
JPEG.
Attach the image to an e-mail

and send it to:
EZCapture@topcon.com
Be sure to include in the e-mail

the following information:
1. Name of the practice

2. Address of the practice
3. Telephone
4. Name of contact person
5. E-mail of contact person
6. Model of retinal camera
7. Serial number
You will receive an e-mail back from

Topcon with the activation code.
Copy and paste the code into the

“activation code” box and click
OK.
The system will be activated. This is a one-time procedure

and does not need to be repeated.
EZ Capture for TRC-NW8 – Use of EZ Capture
To use EZ Capture
without activating, click
the “Cancel” button.
EZ Capture will start.
Please activate EZ
Capture within 99 days
of installation.
EZ Capture for TRC-NW8 – Use of EZ Capture
Once the system has been activated you want to

configure the setup screen to best suit your capture
needs.
EZ Capture for TRC-NW8 – System Setup
Click on the “Start”

button in the lower
left corner of the
screen and select “All
programs”. In there,
locate the TOPCON
EZ Capture folder
and double click.
Two EZ Capture icons will appear. Click on

“Configuration” to open the configuration menu.
Click on Setup EZ Capture to open the setup

screen.
On the Setup EZ
Capture screen,
make sure that the
following items are
selected:
Icons Ez Capture
Capture
View
Folder
Exit
Options
Enter ID before opening capture window

Do not close capture window after saving
Horizontally long (For EZ Capture icon bar)
Folder Setup
Make ID folder in specified folder

File name
Include last name, first name, date and procedure in the window on the
right by selecting the item on the left window and then clicking “Add”
File format can be

selected. The factory
default is JPEG High
CLICK “OK” AFTER SELECTION
Now you are ready to use
