TANGUN (king of Korean
2333bc)- mythological first
king of the Koreans, the
ground son of hwanin, the
creator, and the son of
hwanung.

It was Tangun who gave the


name Chosun(Land of the
morning calm) to the country.
When a bear and a tiger
expressed a wish to become
human beings, he ordered the
beasts into a cave for 100 days
and gave orders that they were to
eat only mugwort and garlic and
avoid the sunlight. The tiger soon
grew impatient and left the cave,
but the bear remained and after
three weeks was transformed into
a beautiful woman. It was she
who became the mother of
Tangun..
 12th century bc, another tribe of Korean from
the area near Beijing china, moved to east and
established a new country succeeding Tangun
Chosun. Descendants of this tribal Koreans still
live in china today.
 The Chinese Han dynasty attacked korea and
overthrow the last Tangun hosun in 108 BC.
The northwest area of korea was occupied by
china until 313 ad but three independent
Koreans kingdoms ruled the other territory of
korea.
