Classroom Control
• This term use by the educators today than
Classroom Discipline, Because recent is often
associated with misbehavior which call for
punishment.
Order in the Classroom
• Order means that the students follow the
actions necessary for a particular classroom
event to be successful, focus on the
instructional tasks and do not misbehave
• Classroom order is threatened by misbehavior
• Discipline is the act of responding misbehavior
Issues in Concerning Order in the
Classroom
• 1. A minimal level of work is necessary for
instruction to occur.
• 2. Students involvement in learning tasks is
affected by order in the classroom.
• 3. Students Cooperation is necessary in
establishing order.
• 4. Expectation for order are affected by a
number of classroom.
Establishing Rules and Procedure
• Rules are statements that specify the things
students are expected to do so.
• Procedures are approved ways to achieve
specific tasks in the classroom.
Obedience to Classroom Rules
• Make classrooms rules consistent with school rules
Example: Be on time at the beginning of the day and after lunch
or recess breaks.

• Involve students in making rules that are comfortable to the


teacher and that fit to the students age and sophistication
permit
Example: Be kind, polite, and courteous to others.

• Identify and focus on the appropriate behavior and translated


into positively stated classroom rules.
Example: Be respectful of classmates, teachers, and property so
they will respect you too.
• Keep the number rules to a minimum4-6
• Keep the wording of each simple and short.
• Have rules address behaviors that can be
observed
• Identify rewards when students follow the
rules and consequences when they break the
rules.

3.Identify specific expectations relevant rule
4.Provide examples and emphasize the positive side
5.Verify understanding
6.Send a copy of the discipline and control policy to
parents and to the principal
7.Post the roles in the prominent location

has just broken a rule

Misbehavior in the classroom
• Misbehavior are manifested in the classroom
when students threaten the academic
activities at a particular moment.
• Richard D. Kellough and Noreen G. Kellough
(2003) listed a different behaviors manifested
by the students in the classroom:
• 1. Transient nondisruptive behaviors
• 2. Disruptions to learning
• 3. Defiance, cheating, lying, and stealing
• 4. Sexual misconduct, fighting, and violence.
