 It means sending of messages ,order or
instruction in writing through letters,
circulars, manuals, reports, telegrams, office
etc.
It is a formal method of communication.
It is less flexible.
It is a permanent record for future reference.
Advantages Of Written Communication

 It is suitable for long distance.


 It creates permanent records of evidence.
 It can be send to many person at a time.
 Allocation of work, job distribution in
written form reduces ambiguity.
Disadvantages Of Written
Communication
 It is time consuming.
 It has no scope for immediate
clarifications.
 It is not effective in case of emergency.
 It is expensive.
 It can’t be changed easily.
Non Verbal Communication
 It is the indirect means of communication which
usually includes some gesture and sign language
 For Examples
- A smile generally indicates happiness
- An expression less face can indicate
bordam

Body language
 It is a type of a non verbal communication in which
physical behaviour, as opposed to words are used to
express or convey the information.
 It focus on interpretations of human language
 Such behaviour includes

- Gesture
- Touch
- Facial expressions
Facial Expression
 The face is the index of the heart . Whatever we feel
deep within ourselves is reflected on the face.
 in face to face communication we convey a loy with
out speaking a word.
 It includes :
- Eye rolling
- Smiling
- Making eye contact
Gesture
 Our body moves in a very meaning full manner these
movements are called gesture.
 They play a very major role in conveying meaning
without words.
 It includes :
- Physical movement of arms, legs , hands and head
 Speech and gesture goes together.
Appearance
It is a very important factor as what a person wear
conveys a message about various personality.
 It is a type of non verbal communication which is
usually associated with one’s dressing sense
hairstyle etc.
 It includes :
- Clothing
- Hair Colour
- Body type
- Unique physical Characteristics
- Cosmetics
Voice
 The first signal we receive or use is our voice.
 it tells us about the speakers background ,
education, training and temperament.
 The clearer the voice , the more effective it will be in
conveying the message
 There are all kinds of voice :
- Clear
- Musical
- Pleasant
- Unpleasant
